About analysing iOS App Store reviews

iOS reviews skew blunt. Users who paid for an app and hit a wall say so plainly, and those reviews are the clearest signal you can get about where a product actually fails — long before you write any code of your own.

The problem is volume and repetition: the same complaint arrives in a hundred phrasings across a dozen country stores. This tool collects the public reviews, clusters them into themes, and ranks those themes by impact so the real pattern is obvious in a couple of minutes.

Paste an App Store URL to start — the numeric app ID on its own works too. This tool covers iOS only, so nothing in the report is diluted by Android reviews; if you also want the Android picture, run the Google Play analyzer separately and compare the two.

What the report gives you

  • Star distribution — how the collected reviews split across one to five stars.
  • Sentiment split — the share of negative, neutral and positive reviews, using whichever star ratings you choose.
  • Complaint themes ranked by impact — mentions weighted by upvotes, so a widely-backed complaint outranks a one-off.
  • The quotes behind each theme — the actual reviews, with rating, upvotes and source store.
  • Exports — reviews CSV, themes CSV, or a printable PDF report.

Honest limits

  • Apple's public feed serves a hard maximum of 500 reviews per country store, so we scan ten English-language storefronts and de-duplicate. A popular app typically yields 2,000–3,000 reviews; a niche one will yield fewer, because the smaller stores genuinely run out.
  • Only English-language storefronts are scanned. Apple's feed has no language parameter, and the theme engine reads English — adding German or French stores would inflate the count without adding anything analysable.
  • The feed does not expose upvote counts, so iOS themes are effectively ranked by mention count rather than upvote-weighted impact.
  • Each free scan is capped at 3,000 reviews so it finishes in about two minutes. It is a representative sample of recent reviews, not a complete census — if you need the full set, we run deeper analyses of up to 100,000 reviews as a paid service. Email order@onlinemaker.site.
  • This tool scans App Store only. To analyse the other platform, use the Google Play Review Analyzer.
  • This is for competitive and market research on public data. Extract insights — don't republish other people's reviews as your own content.
